![]() how I feel about the traditional notions of the family - which I would describe as ties based mainly on mere blood relations. To me the particular dynamics one has with these blood relations is more important. Luckily I have great relations to members of my family. (What I'm trying to say is that in my opinion someone can be a member of your family if you spend enough time with them and they matter enough to earn that distinction. And on the other hand, just because you are related to someone by birth, it may not make them a part of your immediate family. I know that 'friends' is the designation given to people who are important but are not related biologically, but 'friends' is so commonly used these days.. that word's meaning has kind of evolved over time to encompass much more than what may really matter, so how good a term is it anyway?) In any case, here's my blood-relation family who - luckily for me - also can be called very dear friends.
