In this issue:
Hi! No, I am still not ready to migrate us to my new provider’s mailing list system, HOWEVER, in much more exciting news, I am happy to announce that the ELIST Archives are now openly available in a searchable format (previously this required a login). I have migrated half the archives so far, the rest will be forthcoming. The site is using the free open-source blogging software Wordpress. http://www.wordpress.org
See it here: http://www.eszter.com/elist/archives
ELIST oldtimers know that “Today’s quote” is an integral part of every issue. For fun, starting with this issue, each day’s quote will be available on a bumper sticker or mug until the next issue is compiled.:) I will post links below the quotes. I realize this is pretty random, but random things can be fun. I was shocked & delighted to discover that someone I don’t know purchased an infant creeper and mug sporting the little helicopter design I drew for a friend once.:-)

Two weeks ago I went to NYC last minute for the weekend to see The Gates. It was a wonderful experience. Here are my pictures:

Apologies to those I missed seeing that time around, I was there for less than 48 hrs.
As for upcoming travel: In the next few weeks I will be in DC, Zurich, Budapest and Ann Arbor. (In the end I opted for Budapest over Paris.)
And now onto this issue’s links. As always, I start with IT-related sites and then proceed with other goodies. Miscellaneous fun stuff, as always, is toward the end.
I organized a mini-conference on the theme of Sociology and the Internet for this week’s Eastern Sociological Society meetings. I’ve posted the Internet-related panels from the conference here:
